Mahashivratri is celebrated on the Palgun Krishna Paksha of Magha month. Mother Parvati was married to Lord Shiva on the day of Shivratri, That is why on this day the marriage of Mother Parvati and Lord Shiva is performed by the devotees in every Shiva temple.
The day of Shivratri is considered very auspicious, that’s why on this day Lord Shiva is worshiped at every hour in shiv temples, and at night everyone keeps vigil. At night, people perform kirtan and bhajan, sometimes drama is also arranged in which the sweet union of Mother Parvati and Lord Shiva is shown.
Shivratri day is important from both health and spiritual points of view. Chanting Om Namah Shivay mantra on this day gives lakhs of results and even God Bhrama cannot count its merits. On the day of Shivratri, lighting a lamp of desi ghee and chanting ‘बं’ Beej Mantra 1.25 lakhs is very beneficial. This mantra will help a lot in making pure sattvic feelings successful.
If possible, worship Lord Shiva duly in solitude or do mental worship. Pronouncing ‘बं’ 1.25 million times will help in achieving different successes. It is also beneficial in joint pain, vomiting, phlegm and air borne diseases, diabetes etc. Beej mantras not only benefit the gross body but also affect the body due to subtle reasons.
